About falafel

What it is and where is it from?

It is a chickpea and herb croquette that is served throughout the eastern Mediterranean

by street traders, kiosk owners and in restaurants.

Falafel is believed to have been invented in Ancient Egypt, though some place its beginnings within India, known to this day for its delicious chickpea-based dishes.

Most recipes include soaked chickpeas or broad beans, coriander, garlic, cumin, salt and pepper, with many variations across the Middle East.

Other possible ingredients include onions, parsley, paprika and sesame seeds. Soaked bread and baking soda are often used to make it more airy.

These delicious chickpea croquettes are high in protein, complex carbohydrates, fiber and nutrients. Our falafel is vegan and gluten free and it truly come alive when served alongside our specialty range of toppings and accessories as part of a salad or in pita bread to make a sandwich full of flavour and goodness…..
